Biography

John Estill heads the firm’s litigation practice with many years of trial and appellate experience. Mr. Estill has represented clients across the Commonwealth for over 25 years in state and federal courts in Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia.

His practice includes automobile and trucking accidents, other personal injury and wrongful death matters, eminent domain, real estate disputes and transactions, will contests and other probate matters, and labor and employment matters.

Following his admission to practice, Mr. Estill practiced law with Jackson and Kelly in Charleston, West Virginia. When returning home to Maysville to practice, he served as Assistant Commonwealth Attorney during Woodson T. Wood’s last term of office. He has served as Mason County Attorney since 1994 and has twice been named Kentucky’s Outstanding County Attorney. Mr. Estill is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Mason/Bracken Bar Association, the West Virginia State Bar, and the Kentucky Prosecutors Advisory Council, and he is admitted to practice before the Courts of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and the Courts in the States of Ohio and West Virginia. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit and the United States District Court for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky.

In addition to serving the needs of individuals, Mr. Estill represents the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, East Kentucky Power and Farmers Mutual Insurance Company.
